Fixing the Blank Screen issue with OBS using Nvidia Graphics Card
Ever had an issue with your screen capture not working in OBS? Was it after you upgraded your Nvidia graphics card? Well, hopefully, this workaround will work for you. This might also work for any general issues as well as other graphics cards. In particular, my laptop is using a Geforce GTX.
- Make sure that you have OBS installed.
- If you have OBS installed make sure that it is currently closed.
Step 1. Access the Graphics Settings.
a. In windows go to the search bar.
b. Type in the following “Graphics Settings”.
c. Select Graphics Settings
Step 2. Identifying OBS as an Application and identifying Power consumption
In order for the screen to be fixed, we must identify OBS as an application in the graphics settings.
a. Leave “Classic App” selected
b. Select Browse.
Most of the time OBS is installed in the following location: C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit
Select the executable “obs64.exe”
c. Now select “Power Saving” as the option for the OBS app.
Step 3. Open OBS and Setup Screen Capture window
a. Now Open up OBS Studio.
b. Under Sources select the plus sign.
Great! This will now show the Display Screen Capture working for OBS. Hope this works. Let me know.
